Too bad he made bad decisions on prescribing ... it hurts people with legitimate issues.

that was mean native, but honestly I can see the catch. I don't understand why your employer blamed you. If the script had the other doc's name on it, how the heck could you type it on the label?

Yes, I was wondering why pharmacists don't scan the upc code to doublecheck. The first person accepting the script could type it in. The person filling should scan the code. There should be a match!
Biggest radiation threat is due to medical scans

Dr. Higgins, I agree, but logically it makes sense to minimize your exposure when you can. I have had three abdominal CAT scans, three head, and multiple barium series. Now if I can get the same results with an MRI, and I am willing to pay for it, is that a bad thing?

I would gladly pay the cost difference for an MRI over a CAT scan if I were allowed to and the alternative was practical for my diagnosis. Of course, I would think that my insurance would say no anyway, it's just to complicated for them ;(. I had to have a colonscopy before the MRI!

I thought doctors got paid for residency? At least my friend did. He also doesn't pay 100K in malpractice... it's more like 20K (though I'm sure surgeons pay much more).
